what is this light

While driving down the road this afternoon a light illuminated in my truck that I am not sure what it is. The truck is a 2003 f-350 cc, 4wd, 7.3 powerstroke auto. The light is in the left corner of the dash and it looks like a water valve. My coolant level is in the normal range on the reservoir. What else could it be? It out about 10 minutes later.

My 2000,7.3 has a light that will read "water in fuel" if indeed that is the problem. I am not familiar with your year model's lights but you might drain your water fuel separator, (the yellow valve to turn is right behind the fuel filter bowl. Hope this helps. Someone with your year model may chime in on this.

I agree; water in fuel light. Don't you have the owners manual. It would list all lights, locations and what they mean.

From top left to bottom left, my annunciators are:
water in fuel (looks like rain drops towards a fuel pump)
wait to start (looks like a curly wire)
Low fuel
check engine (looks like motor)
and fasten seat belt

You are right it is the check engine light. I was not looking at it the right way. Why is it coming on and then going off. I do not have a chip or a scanner is there anyway to see if it is storing any codes?

Get someone to read your fault codes.. You must use a scanner that is for powerstrokes. If your engine light came on, it will store a code.

Don't do the AutoZone (or other parts store) route, as they normally CAN'T read Powerstroke codes.
