Which Gauges are you running?

I just bought two gauges for my truck. I bought a Boost and EGT gauge... they are going to be mounted in a triple a pillar mount. So i have room for one more gauge. I was going to put a tranny temp guage in there but i was told i dont need a tranny temp gauge because ive got a 5 speed. So i was just wondering what you guys are running for guages so i can decided what to get for my third gauge...Thanks

As far as installing the gauges go. There are two wires...one goes to "dash 12V lighting" and the other goes to "switched 12V". i was just wondering where you guys have connected these wires? Also do the guages only light up when i turn on my dash lights? Thanks Again

Tap the 12V lighting in to the dash lights, then they will light with the rest of the dash lights.

I found a switched fuse in the fuse panel to get the 12 V power from.

A little investigation with a circuit test will tell you which one you need to tap into.

Boost, Pyrometer, volt meter, oil pressure, water temp, engine oil temp add on guages.
Speedo, tach and fuel are all I run out of the stock guages.

for my third guage would it be better to have water temp, oil temp, or oil pressure? Thanks

If you only have the dash guage for oil pressure, that would be my choice.
The stock guage is basically an idiot light with a needle on it.

well i already decided on the water temp gauge...ive still got to install everything...but ive got a few questions that hopefully somebody can answer for me. i already understand how to install the pyro...but as far as the boost gauge goes...right now i dont have the turbo...that will be in the next few paychecks...but once i do have the turbo where do i hook the hose from the boost gauge to so it can tell me how much boost i have?....second question is for the water temp gauge...would i be able to use the existing port in the engine for the original water temp guage and put the probe in there for the aftermarket gauge?...

I used the wire for the light in the ash tray for my guage lights. I put my temp sensor in the top of the water pump and left the factory gauge connected. you sould be able to replace the factory probe if you want to. The plug in the water pump was really in there too, I had to use a big cheater. Now... I was told I should not have put my sensor in the water pump because I need to monitor the temp of the head...but I think I can pretty much tell if she gets hot enough to hurt any thing from the temp at the water pump. As for the boost hose, my ATS had a 1/4" plug right where the turbo dumped into the "snail". I just pulled it out and screwed my plug in there. I would definately agree with Dave. I would prefer to see real oil pressure. Of course I added 6 gauges to mine and left the factory stuff hooked up. I have pictures in my gallery.
