So someone, somewhere along the line added what looks to be factory "Helper springs" to my F100. I need to remove them. I have no need for them A, and B, they won't work with the lowering shackles.
My question is this.. If you look at this picture.
You'll see from top to bottom
Plate, helper spring, small block, leaf spring, axle, u bolts.
What exactly needs to stay? Does that small block need to remain?
The block and helper spring can go, making the new order Plate, leaf spring, axle, u bolts. I'm not sure how the leaf spring centering pin works on these trucks, but it may have to be replaced if it goes through the block and both spring packs. My guess is that it just goes through the spring.
if you need something really out of the ordinary as far as U-bolts go, look in the phone book for an auto spring service, they can custom bend anything you want.
