just got the cps installed and last summer installed new wiring harnessess for glow plug and injectors, but started truck up and it still dies after 5 mins running.any suggestions on what could be the problem. wondering if cps could be bad,its brand new.
runs fine then starts missing then runs good then misses then dies and starts right back up.check engine light comes on when it starts messing up. dont have a code reader yet
Sounds like under valve cover harness related. also check the main wiring harness where it lays over the drivers side valve cover. it could have a wire rubbed bare and touching the VC.
also battery light is on had to jump start it
, think alt. might be bad would that also have something to do with it not running right
Could be if the voltage is low enough to the IDM. It needs a lot of voltage to fire the injectors. It actually increases the battery voltage up to 115V DC. Low voltage in....low voltage out.
Check the connections on the alternator. The small wires on the top get abused from people laying on them. Wiggle them with the engine running and watch the volt meter....it shouldn't move.
I have had some of those same issues and it turned out not to be a bad alt or battery, but that I had a bad ground some where. I would look at some of your wiring grounds. Have you put anyhting new on that had to be wired in? Just a hint from what I have experienced.
