The numbers I can see on it are:
D18 on the front-passenger side of the block
C0AE 9425F on the intake manifold
575 0796 on the water pump
It has a Holley carb with a FoMoCo label - Series BBT Type 1GA Date U
Since no one else has answered I will give it a shot. The number on the intake is from a 1966. There should be a number on the block that has the same type of number, I think it is under the exhaust manifolds on either side. The only real way to tell is pull the heads and measure the bore and stroke. It could be a 360 or 390, remove a plug and insert a piece of wooden dowel. Make sure the piston is at the top of its stroke, mark the dowel. then take the piston to the bottom of its stroke and mark the dowel. A 352 and 360 have a stroke of 3.50 inches and a 390 is 3.78. I would look for the casting numbers on the block first to try and ID it.

Start out simple if the spark plugs face each other like this \\// then its an FE engine. if they all face to the back \\\\, its one out of the other engine families. Also, an FE intake is part of the head, the intake and head will have a joint under the valve cover.

It doesn't tell him that he has a 1960 Fairlane engine. What it tells him is that the intake manifold was originally designed for use on a 1960 Fairlane engine. The D18 on the block looks like a partial date code, i.e., "April 18" casting date, but the year is missing. We still need to know a lot more about the motor before it can be identified.
