UPDATE, We changed the IPR out cranked it over and it fired up thought we were on to something let it idle for about 4 or 5 minutes while we got our tools up and she cut off again. hit the starter fired right back up ran few more minutes cut off again. we have checked wiring harness from cps to the main computer and we dont see any chafing there was a little rubbing at the plug on the valve cover but nothing through the insulation, but I taped them anyway and bent the bracket so it woudn't touch anymore. and still no change in the way it runs. We have another truck in running condition we are using for a doner truck to try parts, we have tried 3 new cps and 1 out of the doner and they all do the same, we changed the icp, ipr, and the IDM and still no change. Looks like out of all the wiring we haved moved around on the engine.that if something was shorted we would have moved it someway to have changed its behavior but we have not. Im begining to wonder if it could be inside like around steering column dont Know what else to try Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.
Yes sir we took all the turbo pipes off so we could get to it. we unplugged it at the valve cover looked real good at both ends and found nothing that looks bare and we taped them up in case we were missing something and still runs the same.I believe the problem must be somewhere else because we should have moved something in the engine area and changed the behavior. When the glow plug light stays on long it wont start but you can cycle the key onand off 4 or 5 times and eventualy it will go off in normal time and it will start. Has a main computer ever acted this way?
Well we bought the truck used but we didnt put one in it as far as I know its stock. The main computer is about the only thing that I havent changed I was thinking about swapping it with my other truck to see what happens would it be possible for a stock computer to have something loose in it?
FWIW - Back in the chaffed wire at the valve cover thread, the mechanic who fiinally solved the problem said the main clue was the WTS light turning on. As I recall he stated he said that indicated a PCM reboot. Sounds like your abnormally long WTS cycle might indicate an unstable PCM, be it wiring or something else??
Greendually I think you hit the nail on the head, I put another ECM in and our problem stopped. The original after inspecting had a Superchip chip in it, We installed the original back in and truck quit again. you could hold your finger on the chip and it would run take it off and will die. I guess Ill have to clean the connection and see if I can get a better connection Thanks for all the help.

Removing the chip with the key on is a PCM killer...
Are you saying the PCM/ECM or puter does this even with the chip removed? Action is correct, never have the key in the ignition when servicing the PCM in any way.
