AT the risk of sounding stupid, I gotta question. What is a "flash" or "reflash". As for my truck love it. Plenty of *****. Used a friends 8 tired backhoe trailer to go pick up a 8000lb '63 ford F-500. Did some measurements to make sure the trailer toted most of the wieght. Pulled it like a champ 65mph at 2000rpm with pedal to spare. I love my SIX-0

Depends on the context of the "flash".
A dealership can flash your PCM to bring it up to date with Ford's latest software image. This can improve drive-ability and address problems with previous software images.
An aftermarket tuner--like the SCT XCal II/III--can be used to completely change the motor's & transmission's operating characteristics to provide increased performance and improve drive-ability under various situations. These programs are often referred to as "tunes" when used in the aftermarket context.
One thing to keep in mind is that Ford's images will be built with maintaining emissions as a primary goal. On the flip side, most aftermarket images focus on performance as their primary goal.
