Window Crank Handle

Hi All.

What are the procedures for removing the window crank handle. It's a 70 F250 Regular Cab. The thing will not budge and I don't wanna ruin the door panels. Thanks.

I don't think there's an easy way to spray some type of break-free on the handle regulator crank; I can only suggest to turn the screw as if tightening and maybe it will break free and allow you to unscrew the screw. That's a hard question to answer.

JUst a thought.

is there a screw through the center of the window crank attaching it to the window regulator

or

does that era have the horseshoe clip on the back that requires a special tool ?

Do you have a pic ?

No screw or clip. The face of the handle is solid with no removable cap. Just thought there was some special trick to it. There's a couple of pictures of the mess in my gallery.

Thanks.

I could have been glued on by a previous owner...in which case, you may have to disassemble the entire door panel to get it apart....go ahead and look up the parts, something is likely to break in the process.

Looks like you have a thin aluminum stick on disk that covers the allen bolt.
With a thin knife blade you should be able to get under it and lift it out.

Beemers correct.

Take a pen knife and carefully pry up on the edge of the center disc.
don't let the sticky back touch anything while you work on the handle.

For cryin out loud. I think I need lazic, whatever. A little foil cap over the screw.

Thanks for helping me with this. I've learned about many parts to do with the door.

You've saved my door panel !

The crank for the window is usually a t20 screw under the cover. There is a notch to get a flathead or body pick in to lift it so you can turn the plastic cover out of the way. That slot is at the bottom end,the same end the bolt will be in.
