352 budget build up
Thanks for the help
Nate
I'd personally get the S code intake and take the extra money saved and get a set of headers and dual exhaust. More bang for the buck, because you won't get too much extra from the performer intake. The Performer RPM is a much better choice, but has a higher rpm range but is still very usable on the street.
A holley 600 vac sec is a good choice and you can probably find a used one that needs a kit for < $50.
A cam upgrade is very cost effective, I got my Crower for about $75 and most are < $100, lifters are an extra $40~50 or so. But you can make some big gains with that alone.
I'd start with the pertronix w/coil, S code 4v intake, cam & lifters, header w/dual exhaust. That's probably close to the same budget you were looking at anyways.
Pertronix - $60 try sacramento mustang online for prices
coil - $35
S code 4v intake - $30~50
headers - $100
cam - $75~100
lifters $40
dual exhaust pipe - $50
mufflers $35 ea
Holley 600 vac sec $60
This should give the most bang for the buck.

1. You probably don't need a billet distributor on the old beasts. They work really well with the stock distributor and the pertronix or another conversion to get away from the points. If ya want it to look shiny and new though, those billet dizzies sure are bright. And spendy.
2. MSD. They seem a bit spendy to me for what you get out of the deal. I picked up a Crane Cams HI-6 with their LX-92 coil for about 190 bucks from Jegs, in a kit. From what I was looking at, the MSD-6A doesn't have as many features on it, and they want just as much if not more depending on where you get it from. The HI-6 is also a little hotter than the MSD. 'Course, mine ain't in the truck yet so I can't comment from personal experience with it. Everything I've seen indicates folks that have used MSD in the past really like Crane's setup though.
Whatever ya choose, good luck with it.
