I know it's probably been posted before but I've looked and couldn't find anything really solid but what would you guys say the best wiring harness be I'm trying to find a good harness in a decent budget I was gonna try the Kwik Wire 14 Circuit (http://kwikwire.com/wire-harnesses/budget-harnesses/14-circuit-budget-wire-harness/) any other suggestions would also be appreciated thank you!!!
I bought the EZ wire 21 circut harness. The reason for the 21 is just in case we ever decide to add on. It's realatively easy to install. This is my first attempt at ever doing such a job. I have run into a couple snags. Not the wiring harness fault. Everytime time I have called the tech he answers my questions. I am probably going to buy the same harness for my 67 Mustang when I get to that project.
If looking into aftermarket kits I would be interested in the reliability of the manufacturer, and quality of the material; particularly if going thru a 3rd party distributor; ebay, etc., suggest contact manufacturer, kwikwire, to determine. I would assume the kits include the dash harness???
There are reproduction harnesses for the 64-67 Ford trucks with same connectors and wiring color codes, it's a matter of unplugging the old and plug in the new. The dash harness can be repaired, and it's possible to include a couple of additional circuits but I found it very time consuming. The 3 main harnesses; alternator, head and taillight harness will run around $250, some of the Ford part supplier's carry them purchased mine thru Mr. Mustang, Inc.
Topic has come up on number of occasions; never notices that at the bottom of the thread there's a list of similar thread, suggest checking them out. Not familiar w/ 'kwikwire but EZ and Painless have been mentioned on occasion w/ favorable comments.
I used the ez wire on mine. Only problem I had is that I am having a no start situation. No power to the coil. Traced it back to the fuse connection in the fuse block not getting a good connection at the fuse..
Other than tech support answering 1or2 ??? I had it is a good upgrade. And a lot less than paying the extra $$$ for a name
