can you give me nutshell explanation of this set up?
is this a safer way to protect the c6 for 4x2 application or
is this required if/when convert to 4x4?
If you wanted to marry the tranny and t-case, you would have to replace the output shaft in the tranny which requires the complete disassembly of the tranny. With a divorced setup, you would just need to mount the t-case on the truck, get a short driveshaft to connect them, and run the linkage. You can also get much better DS angles with a divorced setup since the t-case is further away from the front axle.
it is currently a 4x2, with 460 and c6, i am not sure now as i am away from truck for the day if it is married or not. what is the stock set up ? "married" i assume.
Married is when the 4x4 transfer case is bolted to the trans. Divorced is when the 4x4 transfer case is mounted behind the trans with a short driveshaft connecting them.
