Lightbulb Help with 2003 7.3 powerstroke diesel

Im doing maintenance on my work truck (Ford f450 7.3 powerstroke diesel) and was wondering how often it should be serviced. I was having a problem with it losing power and smoking. I changed the air filter, fuel filter, and changed the oil. It seems to be running better. But not like it should. Any help would be appreciated

I change my oil every 3k miles. My case is on the extreme side. I would say 5k would be my limit. Fuel filter should be no more than 20k if you buy fuel from a good source. Air filter as needed, checked at every oil change.

Those will definitely help, and mech already covered the intervals. How's your fuel pump? What color smoke?

Could be a weak fuel pump. Changing the fuel filter could have helped a bit, but if the pump is weak, you will still have low power and no CEL. The easiest way to check this is to remove your filter and drain the fuel bowl. Then close the drain valve and turn the key on. The pump should nearly fill the fuel bowl by the time the PCM shuts off the pump 15 seconds later. If it is not even close, then you have a fuel supply issue prior to the filter.
