switching from points to electronic ignition

switching from points to electronic ignition

I am switching cabs from a 76 f250 4x4 and putting on a cabb from a 73 f100 2wd. The problem that I am having is that the 73 is wired for points and the 76 is electronic ignition. How do I wire the electronic ignition up to the 73 cab so that it all works? Is it as simple as a power and a ground wire or wha? Some help would be great. Shannon

Shannon, it's pretty easy. Just follow the diagram here:

The only problem you may have is the resistance wire for the '73 is a little different than the '76. For the Durafart, they use a slightly lower value of resistance to match the lower resistance coil. Try it first and see, you might have to pull the resistance wire out of the '76 and put it in the '73.
