A friend got pulled over and has to fix the rust in the rear quarters in his 89 F150 because it`s UNSAFE for passengers???? The cab is rust free.
At times the safety checks get too stupid to be real but if you argue you lose as they will dream up more infractions!

Thats retarded that your buddy had to fix his rear fenders. I wonder if there is somewhere a guy can go to fight that stuff?

I know if they found something wrong with my vehicle, I would definatly let them know where they can stick their attitudes

I would also present the inspection sheet from when I bought the PSD or the civic, and see what they said about that!

The more you fight the more they come up with that THEY would require fixed...Better to play it their way, Dan`s park brake isn`t exactly functional......

A park brake I can understand. Rust I could understand to a point, I guess i dont know how bad of rust it is.

A guy doesnt always have to do things their way either. They can only do so and so much with a spot check, same as searching your car, or anything really. I know there is places you can go to complain about officers harrasing you. I think if they took a vehicle check too far, you could fight it and win.

That`s true about fighting it but unless they went farther Dan would rather weld on the patch panels and dress up his ride.
He does excellent restoration work, he`s helped me out alot with my Mustangs and the F100`s.

Ya know, in one way its probably a good thing he had to fix his rust. Gives him a reason to have a rust free 89!

I just hate when people with authority abuse there authority! Can ya tell?

I hate that about the highway traffic board officers and the Saskatoon City Police but sometimes there are ways around that without getting in deeper.
The RCMP on the other hand has aways given me a break, a world class police force!

These guy that get off on the spot checks I always fire back about a rust hole the size of a dime. I tell them to find me a 2007 where the holes holding bumper clips and molding is no bigger than a loonie. I tell them that all those new cars should be off the road for they all have holes around the plastic clips that can endanger the passengers (CO2 Poisoning) They have a hard time arguing when you show a new car has holes in the body like the rust on your old car.
The truth is the older cars had less holes for molding and plastic bumpers and stuff than the new cars. The new cars have more holes for gas leaks.
It ussualy shuts them up for it is hard to argue when yes the new stuff has more places for exhaust leaks than an older car.
