I put a "T" on the map line as well. I raan I think a 1/4 vacume line into the cab and installed the gauge. I do not like the looks of the white boost type line so thats why I used the black vaccume line. Just my $.02

x-2. Did the same thing. Routed my line along back edge of the cowl under the hood then straight down towards the map line, T'd in there.

I routed my boost line through the diamond shaped plastic access panel thingy (I think it's for the clutch setup on manuals) and on to the gauge. Sorry no pics of that but here's a shot of the tee:

I covered the white boost line with black wire loom.

X2. Seems to be the most common and easiest location, also takes advantage of the dimmer.

Thanks Pat that looks like it wil be a big help for the setup, guess ill go get me a trans gauge to since it shows how to do that one as well and will be ordering a pyro one soon.

Would it be better to put the pyro sensor behind the turbo on the Downpipe to have an exhaust temp or would that be an in accurate reading.

The pyro should go before the turbo. Either in the manifold or the up pipe. Mine is in the up pipe. If you have problems an up pipe is cheaper and easier to replace than a manifold. I will be doing a pre turbo and a post turbo comparison soon. I'll post my findings then.

I agree with Pat.. go figure... but I did tap my manifold. It was a real easy tap.. talk to us before you do it though. I wouldnt want you to go to deep with the tap.

An extendable magnet would be helpful. You don't want the metal shavings going through your turbo.

Pat, Great minds think alike.

Maybe this will help with your questions, Jeremy:

Gauge Installations at DieselManor- 1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke

Preturbo for the pyro! Just dip the drill bit into some wheel bearing grease before you drill to catch the shavings. Personally, those shaving are so small that they will blow right through the turbo without any issues though.
