When I drove truck all over the U.S. and western Canada, I always knew when I was in Saskatoon - this place had the crappiest of drivers in areas like courtesy and co-operation on things like merging. Everyone should drive on the Interstate system or at least on Calgary's Deerfoot 500 to see how just a bit of room and a small dose of courtesy make traffic flow so much smoother. Here, some guys who lane change back and forth several times only to be parked just in front of you at the next set of lights feel they are setting the driving world on fire!!!!
Yeah I hear you. Merging is terrible around here, some people just cannot seem to grasp how to merge properly. Another bad thing I keep running into, is people doing a turn, and changing lanes all at once. A lady just about clipped me this morning, because she turned a corner, and swung out into my lane. Cmon people, driving isnt that hard!
ya know i hated passing through montreal and ottawa, but those people know how to drive!! i gotta agree with ya, s'toon and regina really suck for drivers. one of the nicest places i've driven in was Minot, ND. the people are so polite there...i didn't get the finger now even once, nor did i have to use mine!!!

They probably saw your licence plate and assumed you were packing heat under the seat.
In all seriousness, I find you know when you are driving in Alberta because I can't see the front grill or lights on the vehicle behind me because it's usually tucked under my bumper.
It wasn't always like this. I remember a trip in 83 to Calgary and they were so rude and inconsiderate drivers and Saskatoon was great. Now the table is turned. Except for the Abertan pilots on Highway 7. You would not beleive how many drive down the wrong side while passing semi's or a line of cars and don't even make an effort to merge back in they just keep coming at ya. Thus forcing you to pull to the shoulder. One of the people out here drives a semi to Kindersley and back everyday. He said it is so dangerous with these guys.
He said this summer was one vehicle that did this regularly out by Delisle. Well the driver is now a statistic. They are not just Albertans.
The story is this guy did it again played chicken exp[ecting evryone to keep pulling to the shoulder. Well a semi did not make it in time.
That is the skid marks by my turn off the highway. This accident never even made the news.
That same curve now makes 2 fatality's in 3 years. Both were guys passing when they shouldn't be.
Yeah I find myself getting caught in a hurry at times in the city, but I keep in mind why am I in such a hurry to meet my maker. So I try to relax, plan a safe route that can avoid a lot of the traffic.
I know my truck 2 weeks ago almost got creamed by an idiot in a Mercedes. He ran the red light even though all the cars were stopped. He just laughed at me. I wonder how much laughing he would of did if I took his fenders and door off with my truck.
Toda I almost crushed a caravan with my semi. Idywyld approaching 29th street heading north.
I was in the left lane (not the turning lane) keeping what I figd. was a safe distance then a Carvan who was in the right lane cut infront of my then because the turning lane which he wanted on was plugged with cars he hit his brakes and signalled for what ( I ASSUME) is a she. YA I SAID IT. here I was downhill with a semi with a backhoe no friggin time to down shift from my 6th gear to fifth. had to this makes me CRINGE but I slammed on the brakes, came about 5-7 feet from the rear of the caravan.
I instantl smelt smoke, wasn't m clutch or m tires, Guess I'll be setting m brakes on Monday now.
Haha better believe she got the air horn, good job ryan! I hate people that do crap like that. When Im driving my rig I am so cautious and carefull, and I have had to let the air horn blow a few times too.
