Tranny problem

Hi:
I have a 1973 F350 Camper special with a c6 tranny. The Trans will not lock in park. What could be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the shifter linkage adjustable? Maybe its not getting into park all the way.

Yes it's adjustable. I'll give that a try

Chock the wheels and set the parking brake before you fool around with the linkage. Mark and disconect the linkage at the transmission, gently persuade/force the arm into park, put the column into park, and re hook it up. If that doesn't fix it, you have broken parts inside your transmission. Good luck finding a shop that will fix just the problem, most wont touch it unless they do a full rebuild.
