O.K. John, spill the beans, WE need to know more about this guy/shop. I assume you are talking about the guy who's dually(to quote DIESEL POWER MAGAZINE) " is the only guy at this years competition to provide 6 wheel burnouts" That truck is f-ing awesome. Your our eyes and ears since he's in your backyard. If you choose not to accept this mission, then we will beat you senseless with an oily CCV reroute hose.

That truck is just fking awesome like ya said. I was at a sled pull last weekend, and he pulled, all you hear when he gets on it is the turbo. Every truck he owns is just badass, hes got a standard cab short box, which is the nicest truck ive ever seen. If anyone needed work or parts, id say go there. The best customer service, just like jody at DP. He owns a shop with a few workers and also works a dealership.
I bought my truck a bit away from my house, and the original owner said the trans was rebuilt. So i asked him who did it, and it was some trans place near him that did it. Me being dumb said cool, the weak link is fixed. He also tells me my truck has the legendary PI stallion torque convertor which kinda sealed the deal. Well 4 months later, my trans decides to go haywire, it would not move unless i took the shifter down to 1st myself and shift up, then when it shift to 4th my truck would feel like someone was trying to pull me backwards. So i try changing the fluid, that proved to be a mess and fixed everything, except now instead of a screwed up 4th gear, 4th gear was long GONE! While doing that, I looked at the torque convertor to find a drain, there wasnt one and i noticed it was a blue color. I thought nothing of the color and went on. So i needed a trans and BTS was not an option, since it would have cost me 5K to go there. So i asked around and everyone around here recommended hallas since he builds trans for these trucks. So i went there to get a rebuild. Well, when i said it sounded like someone was trying to pull my truck backwards when it shifted into 4th, it was actually a clutch pack that was gouging the inside of my trans, and eventually couldnt go any farther so it got stuck my case was ruined. Then I asked about my torque convertor since i had a nice BLUE PI torque convertor. Turns out PI stallions are purple, not blue. This is when I found out the original owner of my truck lied to me about that and other things. So I got a ford reman trans installed(since the price of a rebuild+case was way more than i had), he put a shift kit in it, 6L convertor(which he makes the adapters for), and v-10 cooler. Since i told him what i do with my truck, and at that time, i wasnt planning on going past the chip(haha pms is a bitch, im looking at big oil now). The trans that was in the truck when i bought it didnt last 30K, the trans in my truck now has 40K on it, and my driving habits have not changed. I still drive like a jackass. Which is way i say, dont go to a standard trans builder for a trans work, go to someone who knows diesel transmissions.
When my truck was there it was missing a front driveshaft due to me having 3.73 gears in the rear, and 4.56's in the front. He asked me about it and he had an axle pulled out of an 2000 everything was good on it, wheel-bearings were brand new. He said put this axle on your truck, and give me your old one you dont have to pay anything for it just give me the old axle. I was happy since i was looking at getting the gears changed which would have cost me way more to do. Well turned out i had a bad roller bearing on my passengers side and the actual unit bearing was bad also and it chewed up the axle shaft. I showed mike what happened, and that is not a cheap fix. So he said just give me 300$ for the entire axle, its yours, keep both of them. So i got a spare axle with 4.56 gears laying in my garage so one day if i go back its an easy swap back to 4.56s. I was very happy about that, thats a good deal for an axle with brand new wheel bearings and this axle was extremely clean.
The last time i went there, I told him about how my injector went out, and he told me you should have came here, I have those injectors sitting here i woulda gave it to you. I really should go there more often since that damn injector cost me 300$ when he would have just given me one. Then I asked about a brand new set and i said I didnt want to break anything, but have good power, and he could get me some hybrids to use in my truck, but i need a turbo and at least a 17* pump. Turns out he had a 17*pump there brand new, and he sold it to me for 300$. When I need injectors, and big oil, im going there to get them.
