any one know where I can buy a rebuilt ignition distribtor ?? I prefer a stock for my 1966 352. I've tried the "usual" places, Napa, A zone, etc but really couldn't find online. Thanks for the help
NAPA online....items NRD482807 and NRD482887 I entered displacement as a 390 and 428. Didn't see a 352 listed for a 66 there. But anyway it's a start. You should be able to get these at pretty much any parts house. Unless you want a mech adavance dual point then your SOL and would have to buy used.
Advance Auto stocks rebuilt FE distributors. They run about $50-75. If they don't list a 352 one, just get a 360/390 unit. I doubt the advance curves will be different on these for different applications at this late date.
I did some research on the advance auto web site and found that they sell a dist. for a 1966 Country Squire w/a 352 but they don't list one for a 1966 F100 w/a 352. Any one have any idea why this might be ?? Any diff. between a 352 for a car and a truck ?? I wouldn't think so but you can never tell. Thanks to all for the help.
The country squire is a boat (wagon) so the weight thing is probably pretty darn close.. I wouldnt be that concerned. You can always change the curve to suit your needs anyhow.
Thanks Redman, I just got off the phone with auto zone and they also don't offer a dizzy for my truck but I asked them to check for a ford galaxie 5.8L, (352?), and they can get that one. I did notice that some places call a 351M a 5.8L. would this be anything to be concerned about ??
Different motor all together.Take Glenn's advice and go to Napa...with your old one in hand. They'll get you going... the nitwitts at Auto Zone/Kragen etc... couldnt poor **** out of a boot without instructions on the heel.

Yea, the guy/gal who programmed the computer didn't want to list ALL the applications for something they probably felt was obsolete. Ford had actually 4 different 5.8's, 351W, 351M, 351C and the 352. Actually the 351's displacement is 352 as well.
So where did the 400M fit in? What block, stroke and bore were they? Wasn't that interchangeable somewhat with the 351C or M? I sure don't know s#!t about the smallblocks.
The 400M was a taller deck version of the Cleveland. To make the 351M, all Ford did was destroke it with a 3.5" stroke crank, same 400 rods and very tall pistons to make up the 1/2" deck shortfall. 400 bore/stroke was 4x4 deck is about an inch taller than the Cleveland. Good truck motor and can be made to run, but pistons that reach zero deck are one-off deals, there's a guy here on FTE that had these pistons made up in a specail run. TMI enterprises is the name. Downfall is it's unique motor mounts, they're not shared with anything else. Bell pattern is mostly the 429/460 pattern with a very few small block patterned castings made one year only in the early 70's. Lots of those were snatched up by the Pantera crowd. The 400 was intended to be the replacement for the 390. Pingin' sum-bitches though.
