Muffler offset, ok or not?

Muffler offset, ok or not?
1992 f-250 351 the way my pipes are set are fairly close. I am planning on putting in two mufflers and run duals, i can't put them side by side they are to close. If i set one farther back then the other one will this help, hurt, or make no differnce in performance and sound.

Mount them vertical side by side if you have room.
Staggered is funky unless both pipes are together off to one side of the frame going back. If run down the right side of the truck the right muffler would be placed behind the left muffler. The distance from mufflers to manifolds or headers would be close to the same distance.
