? about Head Id

I found a 66 model FE in a barn. Heads on motor are C6AE-3090-R anyone
know if this is a hi-performance version

My book doesn't have a listing for that casting number. The last 4 numbers should be 6090 not 3090. If it were a C5AE 6090R then it would be a 427 medium riser head. Check the valve size.

High Performance Ford (by George Reid) lists
C6AE-R as 352ci 1966-1967 with no high performance notes.

Sounds kie you have a 66 352. those heads only went on 352's. If motor is original. and back then that was a common motor for that truck.

TP is right, C6AE-R are excellent heads for performance. Cut the throats for CJ valves, a little pocket porting and cleanup of the exhaust port and you practically have CJ heads!
