Dennis, my mistake.

Canadian English derived from British, not French, as I posted earlier.

cheque (chk)
n. Chiefly British
Variant of check.

Either way, I prefer/want a check/cheque that will be honored, and won't (will not) be returned due to NFS; Non-Sufficient Funds; (bounced check/cheque).

most of the time, I type fast , so I mispell stuff.

what irritates me is when someone types "person that" instead of person who" and very few people seem to use lose and loose correctly....

I do try to use proper grammar while typing my comments, answers, or questions in the different forums I visit. It is so easy for your mind to race ahead of your fingers while typing out what you want to say. This despite having taken secretarial classes in High School and College in those years "Mad Men" is set into. Then making the mistake of forgetting to proofread the message before clicking the "post reply" button.

Uh oh!

Is to allow the reader to think like in the past tense like the whale is now dead?

Any fourm of the verb showing time of action or state of being like present, past, future, perfect, past perfect, and future perfect.

I know, I know.

The best one was on KRON channel 4 TV news about 2 years ago when the sports caster was talking about a baseball player that had swelled disks in his back.

He stated "it must be hard to run around the bases with a swelled dick".

The wife and I looked at each other and started laughing, both couldn't believe what he said.
