Okay I just "inherited" this computer from my grandparents today. Im having a problem....whenever I click on a link that has to open in a new window, the window that comes up stays blank. I dont see any sign of it even trying to load something, just blank, the toolbars and stuff still come up though. If I go to file-new window it opens up a new window of the page Im on just fine. If Im on AIM and I click on a link im somebodys profile it opens up like normal. Im only having a problem if Im on a page and I click on a link that has to open a new window. Is there some kind of securtiy setting or somthing like that that is or isnt turned on??
Thanks for anyhelp, strange that the first place I come to for help is a ford site haha
On edit: Pop-ups dont even finish loading, all the pop ups I get are blank also.

try this: goto Tools-->Internet Options On the Security tab, put it on Medium. On the Advance tab click on Restore Defaults. you can also try to reinstall IE.
It says I dont have enough space but I have like 1.93 gb left and the file says only 32 mb are required.....gahhh why can computers be like fords?
Is there a way to uninstall the IE I have now and just reinstall the same system?

Who Is At Risk?
Anyone who has a connection to the Internet and who is using Windows XP/2000/98/95 with this networking feature installed.
To Disable the Messenger Service Manually:
-- Click on the Start button in the taskbar
-- Open Control Panels
-- Go to "Administrative Tools" (XP users may need to go to "Performance and Maintenance" first, then "Administrative Tools")
-- Double-click on "Services"
-- Scroll down to "Messenger"
-- Double-click on "Messenger"
-- Change the Startup type to "Disabled"
-- Click "Stop" to stop the service
To Re-Enable Manually:
Follow the above steps, but change the Startup type to "Automatic," then click "Apply," then click "Start" under Service Status.
Note:
You must be logged on as an Administrator for the automatic fix to work.
in simple terms, your computer sends out signals, thats other "see" they then send you ads...so if you turn off the signal{ "messenger service" } no more pop ups.......
oh by the way you don't need those blockers...if you do this...

your right , oops..but it will stop the pop up ads without adding to the problem.....if it was me and i had all the software, i would re-format and rebuild the system, that way you would have a clean slate to start from...
