223 engine

Question for the engine gurus......Does the 223-6 share a bell housing pattern with any others? Such as say the 300-6?
If there is in fact a 223-6, that is what I was told it was by PO.

Yes, there is a 223-6. They were used from the mid 50's to 1964 car and truck. The bell housing I believe will share with the 262-6 (big brother). I don't know of any other.

They did not share anything except w/i their own I-6 Family of engines, 215/223/262 from '54-'64, which has the Intake/Exhauste manifolds on the Driverside.

The 240/300 I-6 family of engines came out in '65, is an Intirely different engine design from previous FoMoCo Inliners, shares bellhousings w/ the 289/302/351W v-8's, & the 240/300 I-6's has the Exhauste/Intake manifolds on the Passengerside.
