How much can I expect to pay for insurance. I just bought anouther 53 f100. And this one runs!!! Anyways it's still needs alot of work but I'd like to drive it for the rest of the summer before I tear it all apart later this fall. I checked with my insurance company and got a quote of $500 a year. Listed as low milage, ocational use, just liability. That seems a little high to me.
Just thought I'd check to see if this is in the right ball park. I've never insured one of these old truck before.

We have had several discussions on this in the past.(try a search). That being said ,I like Grundy for pleasure driving only. you should be able to get it for under 200.

I think I'm paying about $300/year for liability and uninsured motorist through Farmer's Insurance. Its hard to remember since I have 4 vehicles, 2 motorcycles, and a travel trailer all insured........its hard to keep track of which bill is for what.
I had Hagerty for some time, but it was not as lo cost my new policy with State Farm
I have full coverage,no limit on miles, 300/500K on liability, and it is covered for $45,000 and best of all, they have not pressured me to flip my home and other drivers to them. American Fam will not cover my classics since they do not have a classification in the system. My annual was $214.00 but I just got a rebate of $19.00 since I was claim free. No service charge for 6 month billing. ($97.00 per 6 months)

I am paying around $400 a year through state farm. It is agreed value and I can drive it when and where I want. No restrictions what so ever. I can drive it as a daily if I want (which I do most of the time now).
You are not limited on mileage with grundy, but they have some stipulations. I think parking in a garage is one of them...or it used to be.
Of course price depends on where you live and your driving record but you should be able to do a lot better than 500 bucks. Check with Grundy. Mine is full coverage for about $170 a year with no restrictions on mileage but you do have to have a second vehicle.
It makes me wonder why some have liability only. In Colorado, the difference to add full coverage is really minimal and I was rather surprised to find out. I also learned that the difference to go from 100k/300k to 300k/500k liability was only 16 dollars per year but most agents do not discuss it since it is not a profit center for the company or the agent. I do enjoy multi, over 50, and clean record discounts to get the price down I might add.
I went with Grundy too. The policy is for an agreed amount of coverage, no mileage restriction, but the truck does have to be garaged and can't be my daily driver. They will give you a quote no problem.
My other cars are with State Farm who wanted as much for my truck for 6 mths as Grundy did for the year and the coverage was very low.
