Pics of F&R engine mounts 223-6
I'm in the process of putting the original motor(223-6) back in my 59. The problem is that the previous owner had an obsession with a cutting torch. I have a 240-6 in it now with the side motor mounts. I Think the 223 mounts from the front and the rear, but I have never actually seen how it mounts. If any one could send me a couple pics of how this looks, that would be excellent. Also, If any one has the 223-6, T-98A combo, I also need to see how the tranny crossmember looks as well, since the jacked up 3-speed I have took the place of the crossmember. I know the 240 is better, but i'm a little sentimental!!! You can shoot the pics to

Here's pics of my '54 frame that had a 223 in it, don't know how close this is to the later models, but it might help:
Front Mount
Rear crossmember:
And a pic showing them both:

There is a 223 out of a late '50's truck on eBay right now. I tried posting a URL to the auction but it bombs. The item number is 4501407346. They look like this:
I have a '60 223 (<- follow link) with the same front mounts as the one in the eBay auction. I also have one of the U shaped yokes that I think went on the early to mid '60's trucks. Looks like the one in this picture (no, it's not my engine.)
I have a '53 so I know the 215/223 but I'm not too familiar with these newer mounts. I plan to swap the timing cover out on the '60 223 with one from a '55 223 with the integrated motor mount and put it in my parts truck. I may have the side mounts available after that. That's a project for this winter so I won't know for a couple months if my plan will work.
The tranny crossmember seems to have remained unchanged through these years.
Good luck!
