Radiator "thickness" question

I have a 1969 f-100 with a regular sized "standard cooling" radiator and a 360 v8, my question is if I go to the super cooling radiator how much thicker is it ? I need room for my electric fans-

Unless you go to a custom the max is 4 core ~1 3/4" thick. The std cooling I think is 3 cores, so you will add ~3/8-1/2"". If you go custom change it over to a cross flow, more efficient. I have looked at electric dual fan setup my self. Could not find a single fan that could move the same cfm as the original fan. They have dual fans but would not fit the radiator, hung over the edges. I would be interested in your setup.

Standard is two row, AC with automatic three row, you can have a 4 row or a custom 5 row stagger tube built. The 5 row stagger is about as wide as the tanks, electric fan clearance I haven't a clue.

it fits

A few yrs ago I had a leak in my 6 yr old 4 row brass rad. It got replaced with a 2 row alum rad with a dual fan setup with 5000cfm. This is on a 390 f100 4WD that gets driven in 115 degree temps and will sit in traffic for as long as it takes and the temp gauge doesnt move past half way. Some pix in my gallery.

My way of thinking and that of a friend with over 50 years in the radiator repair business you already have a dissimilar metals thing going on with the cast iron block and aluminum intake why add a aluminum radiator?

because aluminum disapates heat alot faster than copper or iron or any other common metal in an automotive environment, just for ****s and giggles take a piece of sheetmetal and heat one end for about 30 seconds, if its steels it'll be warm on the opposing end, if you do the same thing with aluminum it'll be so damn hot you wont wanna pick it up with your bare hands

where I got it...

Bought the alum rad from J*gs. They have several price ranges depending on what you want. If I remember right, mine was the 26"X19" one. Went in pretty easy with the elec fans on top of it. Have pix in my gallery, not a great shot, but you can see the back of the setup.
