I still have to disagree. If every parking spot were level, then you may have a more valid point. It has only been about 6 months since a toddler was ran over and killed by a minivan here. Come to find out, the van had not been back in for its recall to have the shift interlock modified. And, what about the van that rolled off into a lake about 6 weeks ago with some kids in it? I believe I read it was the same issue. Sure, adults are just as responsible for allowing the situation to occur in the first place, but I have three small kids. And you can bet that if one of them were to get ran over because someone needlessly bypassed something like that, the trial would be for me, not the owner.

Even the torque from an idling PSD isn't enough to get mine to move more than a couple of inches. None of my vehicles have ever generated enough driveline torque at idle to move the truck more than an inch or two.
This is a feature to protect Ford from sue-happy owners, not any kind of actual truck problems.
