Hello, I have a 1993 F350 crew 4x4 with the 460 c-6 combo. I have a line a low mile "rolled" 1996 7.3 2x4 with the auto. I was wondering the process, time, and any comments on a conversion. Thanks
Cuda,,,,Not trying to thread highjack or anything, but what model and make is that boat ??? I was a high performance boat engineer at Baja Marine here in central ohio for a long time, was just curious.............
for the conversion, you're gonna need all the engine wiring and computers and also the dash gauge cluster would be good to swap. it should be a pretty easy swap but could be time consuming, maybe several solid days worth if you are fairly good with the tools, but i haven't swapped a motor, so i have no clue how long it will take. it would probably be much easier to get a 4x4 tranny for the diesel rather than swapping the output shaft. if the c-6 would even bolt up (i dont think it will) it won't hold the power of the psd for long at all.
good luck with in though
The doner truck is a 2-wheel drive and looks like the frame is pretty badly twisted and such. Thanks for all the replies, looks like the bank may get it before i do.
Auctions or the crusher. Most recyclers will keep them around for parts though. The bank or ins co's don't want it, they want the money. Find out who holds the lean on the truck and see what they need to get it off their books. I've bought a couple cars doing that. The faster you move the better chances you have on getting it cheap.
Ususally I get the info from the owner. It's usally someone I know that asks me what to do about their wrecked car or if I want it for parts. I do'n go looking for them, they find me
