Reflash Help!
I bought an edge tuner about a month ago for my 99 sc 4.6l and the unit froze up and wouldn't respond during a programing which caused my truck to no start. I had to tow it to the dealer for a reflash and the edge dealer sent me a new box. When I recieved the new box I plugged it in and the unit won't go past the "make sure your key is on and wait for it to initialize" screen. I talked to the edge dealer I bought the unit from and he said that the dealer reflash probably did not remove the old chip which is interfering with the new one. Is this possible? and if so what do I need the ford dealership to do to remove the old chip so I can install the new one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a similar problem with a customers Edge, and after 3 hours of trouble shooting, Edge said to send it back. Call edge directly, have your PC, tuner and cable handy when you do because they will walk you though a couple of reset parameters.
The tuners are vin locked, the ECM shouldn't care, it gets erased and replaced. However, to clean out your ECM just have ford reflash the latest calibration. Ford flashing brings it right back to stock.
