I have a 2008 F350 6.4L with a bad (ECU) computer thats putting out low voltage to my sensors. The dealer wants $1400 for a new one so I'm going to go the used route. I'm currently running a edge race CTS programmer in my truck. If I buy a used (ECU)computer from a auto salvage, do I need it reflashed by a Ford dealer? Can I do it myself and use my Edge programmer and install my stock program on to it? Any help would be nice.

 

I think you need to call Edge and see if you are vin locked to a certain ECU.

 

I'd try to borrow and ECU or buy one that can be returned if needed, to check if that really is the issue.

The tuner is probably locked to you're ECU as said above.
