They put a regulator in the line to prevent the sensor from seeing more boost. That way they can tell the map what they want and not the actual boost pressure.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing those regulators on there. Heck I only push about 17-18lbs., sometimes towing see up to 20-21lbs. Dont think I need the regulator right at this point.

my mod has no regulator, i just moved the input from the intake to the turbo outlet, putting it several feet closer to boosted air giving virtually no lag

i'm hittin 26-28 without the chip and i don't have any problems yet but of course that's only through first and second, maybe it would creep up to like 30-32 if i was gutsy enough to keep it floored while it's sideways at the end of 2nd gear

Don't get too gutsy till you do the trans. Unless you can walk to work.

well idk about the whole trans thing, i think the trans is rated at like 850 ft lbs... but i know for a fact that the stock torque converter is rated at 750 ft lbs... and if the torque converter goes, it throws metal into the trans, ruining the trans, and my trans hasn't slipped once so i think my trans will be fine till next summer (i always go VERY easy in the winter so no worries about pushing it then..) that is once i get my torque converter and with the valve body that should help it survive a little longer, till i get some more green

I dont think the trans is rated that high. Why would they build them that tough when stock they only put out 450 fwtq? If that were true then they'd be building the transmissions to hold over 2 times the stock tq, i dont think any manufacturer over builds something that much. IMO your playing with fire, trust me stage 2's and stock trans dont play well together.

idk lots of people tell me this but then again lots of people have told me that all you need is a good torque converter, and a different valve body and it'll hold much more then you'd think it will.... for a certain amount of time... and if my tranny craps out on me that's why i got a couple extra bucks saved up in the "emergency truck fund" it should have enough in there to get a complete tranny/torque converter

you can hit boost that high with AD splits, stage 1 and above. I was hitting 33 PSI before the IC with AD's and was getting the defuel. It feels much more like a gassers rev limiter but I installed the regulator and it won't do it any more. So with the line relocation and the regulator I am hitting boost fast and longer! My poor poor turbo! Still 6 months left on the warrantee!

It seems that some truck do and some don't. once you get your chip you might notice it but you might not also. the great thing is that its cheap and easy to fix if you do encounter it.
