I won my 23lb injectors for just $27 with shipping. I will need to change to the later style connectors but I plan on redoing my engine harness from scratch anyways.
looks like a smoking deal for sure. i'm thinking 23lbs should be plenty, aren't factory 5.4 injectors only 17-19lbs??
I think he is talking about his stroked 5.0L motor. ( me thinks anyways ) Stock are 19lbs on the 5.0L. I think the stock injectors are good to 400 hp. ( years of reading MMFF might be paying off! )
Stock 19 lb injectors are capable of 275 hp where as a 23 lb will do 345 hp. I'm gonna be pushing close to 300 hp flywheel so my 19 lb injectors will be inadequate plus my increased displacement.
I'm going SD density all the way! You can build a speed density engine to do almost as much as a mass air system. You just got to pick the right cam. I'm gonna be using Tweecer. Mass air will still only get you so far without reprogramming the computer.
I'm pretty sure the new 5.4L have 24lb injectors. Old Crown Vics and Lincolns had 16 lb injectors which were only good for 210 hp!
Ya everyone ignored these injectors since they are an EV6 instead of the more common EV1s. The EV6's have a better spray pattern for better fuel economy plus they are smaller. They function the exact same as the older style.

That's the only way to make sure everything works right. I like bolt on parts and will modify something to bolt on (ex. frame swap). I see too many hack jobs at work.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get your info on the hp ratings for the injectors? Only because I've seen plenty of Stangs running 300+ on motor with the stock injectors. I had a 80 hp cheater nitrous kit when I first bought my 91 and it only stated that bumping up to 125 - 150 jets it would be "recommended" to upgrade your fuel pump and injectors.
I'm in no way questioning your knowledge it sounds like you know whats going on.
The info is right from the Ford Racing catalogue. They have a little article on injector sizing.
Now NOS is a different ballgame. You are adding a fuel which supplements the fuel injectors. You can squeeze 300 hp out of 19 lbs if you raise the pressure but you are running it at 100% which will shorten it's life span. Messing with the fuel pressure works but isn't the most efficient since the engine still thinks it adding the same fuel but your adding more. It will adapt somewhat but modifying the fuel slope figures in the computer is the best way.
