How long do injectors last? I have 135,000 miles all seems good, should I have injectors on my mind?

depends on how much you have changed the oil, not over heated, clean fuel, correct fuel pressure and not running out of coolant over the years to name a few

mine have 304k on them and some others here have a lot more than that

what ^^^^ said Some get 100,000 some get 400,000 and a select few even more...

The general average I have seen from the threads here is 200,000 miles before you should start thinking about them....I had mine rebuilt at 209,000 by Rosewood...and they were all essentially perfect except 1... Glad I did it (piece of mind)...but also wished I hadn't spent the money (on something that was still good) ....

I should preface this with I don't think the engine is the original engine in my truck...lots of things had been replaced... lots of things had been half a$$ed too..

there is a big difference between the IDI and th epowerstroke.
i push the injectors on my IDI to between 150 and 175k or so, and they are done by then.
Jim at Rosewood recommends reconditioning the powerstroke injectors around 200k, because that is when they start to wear.
i have 190k on my 02, and the injectors are getting pulled for rebuild after the snow season is over in the spring. my 02 was not taken care of very well before i got it, so i am having issues due to worn injectors like poor mileage, and hard cold starts.

I wish I knew if I needed them. but I guess if I go more power it will not matter as they would need work anyway.

It varies, and depends on many factors. Little Brother had his changed out at 406K miles (1999 F450) because he started having a miss so to speak.

Mine were pretty hammered in my '01 with only 160k miles. put a whole new set in and it runs much smoother, better fuel economy etc. My '97 has 150k on them and they show some tell-tell wear. Both never had the fuel systems serviced as frequently as they should have before I bought them.
