I'm doing the D60 swap on my 250 and am currently looking for some 95-97 steering knuckles so I can use the bolt on calipers, hubs, rotors, etc. off my current truck. The D60 is a 94 and has the slide calipers... The salvage yards keep asking for the gear ratio. Does this matter??? Except for DRW or SRW, I can't imagine why the gear ratio would be a factor for the knuckles. I think I found a set from a 97, but they are out of a 4.10 axle, and mine is 3.55.
Any help would be appreciated!
knuckles would have no bearing on the gear size... just ask them for whatever they have. tell them gear ratio does not matter, otherwise i am afraid you are limiting yourself!
i dunno what you use your truck for but if you are going to be doing this anyways have you thought about dedenbears? they are pricey but SUPER beefy!
no... the knuckles will NOT swap b/t the 50 and 60. however with that said eveything from the rotor out will swap. the bearings are the same size and that allows the rotors to interchange. i had a D50 in my old 85 F250 and the D60 i bought for it had dually hubs. i swapped them right around with no issues
