I'm still in that sit back and cruise stage since my SD is new to me . Gimme 6 months and I'll be wanting to mod it out sick like.

Is a straight back exhaust legal in TX?

Technically speaking even if you don't live in a county that has emission testing it is illegal according to Federal law, now getting caught to get fined is something else.

Yea, I went round and round with that and my old Gasser.

Had an 85 SWB C-10 with the ZZ4 350-350hp, had about 12 grand in mods including a 1200 exhaust system (With-out cats), my inspection hookup friend was no-more, had to get cats installed to get back on the road. I'm alittle exhaust wiery now.

The black smoke from diesel exhaust is more of a people killer and an ozone killer. The components of exhaust that kill the ozone are mostly invisable to the unadded eye while the particulate matter which give the exhaust visability is heavy tending to remain close to the ground and is a human carcinogen.

According to every guy I ever spoke to in Inspection Stations.. Diesels are authorized to be equipped with Straight Exhaust.. If you find me a guy in Texas who declines an inspector because it's straight piped, I'll believe it lol... All my diesels I've ever owned were straight piped, never once got stopped or not allowed inspection..

The 6.0 is ALOT louder stock tho.. I don't really get on it unless I'm on the Highway (sometimes)

It was a movie about a couple getting a divorce, a hillarious dark comedy. Kathleen Turner played the wife. Husband wanted to get a sports car (Morgan), wife wanted something larger, so he bought the Morgan and she bought a monster truck (Ford as I recall ) and ran over his Morgan with him in it.

Chances are, she already did - which is maybe why she likes your truck in the first place

Humm, maybe, but one thing I do know is she hates them rice rockets and loves the feeling of power she gets from being in the SD. One of these days I wouldn't be surprised to find RC peices imbedded in the grill.

in Collin County ?? as far as I knew per Texas laws diesels did not require a muffler since the turbo "acts" as a sound deadener - per them ..

I can't speak of Oregon, but I did spend seven years out in the PRC (People's Republic of California) in school. All I can say is good luck with straight pipes/no muffler in the PRC you'll be pulled over quicker then you can say dB.
