96 PS Preformance Upgrades

Now that my diesel is up and running, its time for some upgrades, instantly. I bought the powerstroke with a K&N drop in air filter. But from what I've been reading so far, they aren't worth a crap. Not sealing up 100% and the filtering media being not woven tightly enough, letting small molecules into the turbo and such. I was wondering what everyone else thinks of the K&N FIPK, tymar intake system, or a afe air intake system? Are there any other major ones that I left out? I kind of had my eye on the k&n setup but not so much now. I've read wonderful things about the tymar setup as long as you seal the air tubes with silicone. Also Id like to chip this diesel as soon as possible. Again there are so many options that I don't know where to start. I was at the diesel shop the other day and they tried to sell me a bully dog 4 bank 6 position chip for like 450 or 475. On the other hand everyone on the board here pretty much runs the ts performance chip or the TD custom tunes setup. To be honest, I'm lost and don't know where to go or what to buy. Could someone point me in the right direction?

for under 400 you can get a wildman chip, go to napa and get a 6637 airfilter and a small piece of 4inch pipe to make your air filter, any 3 inch downpipe and at least 4 inch exhaust , not to mention shimming your fuel pressure regulator and a 10k mod, then add the intercooler....the list goes on, check out my webshots(click on my link) and get a good look at some of the easy mods you can do

whoa, whoa, whoa. before you go to getting a chip and what not there are some other things you need before hand. if you have an auto then you need a bigger tranny cooler. you need a set of gauges-egt and boost gauge, if it's an auto you also need a tranny temp gauge. then bigger exhaust, make sure you get one that comes with a bigger downpipe. then comes the intake joe told you. then get a dp-tuner or a wildman chip and you'll be set.
