I found a 4 row replacement for my 77 F250 from my local radiator shop. $165, brand new made in China radiator. Should be good for at least a year! It does stay cooler than my 3 row that was in it though.

Not sure, how big are the big tanks, and how big are the small tanks?

Ford uses 3 terms to describe their rad's in this order and by the size of the cores.

Regular (2 core)

Super Extra Cooling (3 core) Trucks without AC

Heavy Duty Cooling (I presume 4 core) Trucks with A/C

Sounds right, but the truck it came from had air. Then again we are talking about a truck that is nearly 30 yrs old so who knows whats been done to it over the years. Do they have different part #'s for one with air and one without air ? It needs recored anyways and the rad shop wants 400$ to recore it in 4 row. If I don't come across another one soon I'm going to have it done. Maby someone knows of a cheeper place I could send it off to ?

my recent visit to a radiator shop

I found a 4-core on ebay for $40 ($75 with shipping). I took it to a radiator shop in my 78 F250 camper special and he said the radiator in the truck (3-core) was better -- bigger tanks and bigger dimensions. According to him, 3-core camper special radiators are the best, so I just kept the 4-core as a second. He charged me $100 to repair and recore the radiator, $400 is ridiculous when you can buy a new one for $250-$400.

Check these guys out. It appears that they even have warehouses in PA. www.performanceradiator.com
They are the only place I order rads from. Fair prices on US made. I got a Part#: 1501 for my '75 F-350 Super Camper Special 460 W/AC.
God Bless,
Nathan

i had to measure the core on my radiator toget the correct one. i had the super cool in my truck. i think the core is 24 x 26. my parts truck has a 3 row 19x26 core. i used it as my ac is not installed, which sucks since i can't remember a day lately it hasn't been over 100. but the smaller 3 row works well, especially since it doesn't leak. it runs at 192 degrees as did the suoercool before it started to spit coolant.
