Bent push rod?

Bent push rod?
Hey guys. I'm trying to diagnose a sick PSD over the phone and I could use a lil help.
To preface: Buddy was driving to work, pulled the shifter **** off during a hard shift and overrevved it bad.
He called me from a convienence store and I could hear it popping out the intake over the phone. He said his precleaner over the filter was puffing up like a balloon.
The first thing that came to mind was a bent pushrod.....but.....two minutes later he called me back, decided to baby it the last mile to work, and it stopped doing it when he went over the speed bump at work.
So now I'm thinking either a pushrod snapped off or possibly it just knocked the rocker off. He said it is idleing a little off and it smells funny, but it no longer is pushing air out the intake.
In the morning when I get off work we're going to see if a 172" dually will fit on an 18' flatbed to get it home, and it won't take long to get to the valvetrain once it's home...I'm just wanting to bounce some ideas here.
Thanks
Scott

Whooooooweeee....... Dave got some some great pics of a big ole truck on an itty bitty trailer.
We got it back to the house this a.m. and the problem was instantly obvious. Broke the rocker arm on the #4 hole exhaust almost clean in two. No damage to the pushrod at all that we can tell. We got a pic of the arm too. I'm sure Dave will get 'em loaded soon.
BTW, the 94-97 rockers are different than the 99-03 according to the International and Ford dealers. $18 for the new arm at the Ford dealer.
