Just a thought from another thread I have, are you still running your original CPS and if not, where did you get the one you have? Same question to the others here that are having the same problems.
I replaced the CPS some time ago with the new improved (and cheaper) "gray" version from the stealership. I'm going to put the spare black NAPA version that I also bought back in and then take the truck in for the CPS recall and ask them to check the wiring to the CPS while they are in there. Some here seem to think that there is potential for issues there.
has anyone found the solution to wet wiper problems i hate the fact i cant use my wipers when its raining or snowing this should be adressed to ford for another recall issue since alot of pepes are having this pain in the *** problem
I have seen a service bulletin asking for replacement of the Wiper multifunction switch. I also have codes B1438 and B1450 showing up, both of which are wiper related.
My multi-function switch has some issues anyway, like when I push to squirt water, it does not always do it on the first push, and sometimes the wipers will keep running, even if you turn them off.
So I think the next step for me is to replace the Wiper Multi-function switch on the steering column. It is about $120.
Then check to see if the wiper codes come up again.
after installing the new cps went to carwash wet the truck and went driving put wipers on and the problem did not occur again must of fixed the problem
Badger,
Were you able to resolve your problem with the engine cutting out? I seem to be having the same issue. The engine icon light has also popped up if the "hiccup" is strong enough.

No, I haven't really got to the bottom of this yet - the problem I have is that the cutout still happens when the wipers are on but it is so random and infrequent it is hard to know if it is still an issue or not after changing something.
The last thing I did was to spray water-repellent in and around the CPS and its wiring and I haven't had the problem since, but I haven't driven in the rain or snow much since then either. I hate these intermittent issues!
