[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jan-03 AT 11:56 AM (EST)]Oh happy new year but not with my motor. My 98 w/55k just developed a wobble/miss this week that flattens out with higher revs. Plugs hole? Burnt valve? It seemed to get worse over a few days-coupla hundred miles. Anyone else?:-X23
If you decide to pull the plugs,a compression check will confirm or eliminate an engine miss due to compression issues.
It is best to do it on a warm engine with the throttle wide open. The gauge only needs to be screwed in just past hand tight.Crank the engine about seven revolutions. The cylinder pressures should be within 20% of each other. In actuality though,if you have a miss due to a "dead" cylinder,it will have a significantly lower reading than the rest of them.
BTW,don't overtorque the spark plugs when you reinstall them.
>Thanks again. My mech sez that the computer reads 2

There have been some people post here with individual coil packs that have failed or were failing on their trucks.
