Same Here

Similar result here, I have not been pleased w/ the AC performance in my 2008 6.4 SD.

Someone thought R134 was the problem, but my 95 explorer AC would blow you out of the car just fine.

Simple version is it acts kinda like the thermostat in a home A/C system, however, it will automatically control the mixing door and add heat to the conditioned air if it is too cold instead of just turning off.

Good thing it's covered, parts are probably a little expensive...

I think these head units are a little suspect. Had mine replaced 2-3 months ago. Now it just started the blower on high at all times even with unit off thing.

Sounds like a blower relay problem. Just turned 38k miles. Probably not covered under the warranty.

Oh yes and as far as cooling goes. I think the PSD engine gives off a ton of heat. When I am driving around really slow or idling with vent on, not AC the air coming out heats up significantly.

When I park for a few minutes and start up you get a really hot blast for a while. I think the ducts must be close enough to the engine heat to cause them to heat up unless a lot of air is moving both inside the ducts and outside. When vehicle is moving no problem. Ford should insulate the ducts better if this is the case.

Doesn't solve the above mentioned problems though :>(

listen up,,wannt you ac to work? add a fan to the front of the evaperater,,get a thin one,,you may have to trim yh back of the grill. run a relay off the hot wire to the ac and then the fan will come n anytime the ac is on. sure makes cold air. i have done it on all 3 supers i have oowned. i take the fan off and puut it on the new truk.

I'm not worrying about the AC since it has been in the 30's where I'm at, but I have looked into the Air Conditioning Control Valve from Diesel Site:

Any one seen it, heard of it, or used it? It is on my list to consider when the weather turns warmer.
