using air recirculation in winter

Opposite my A/C button I have a button that I'll call "recirculation". If I use this in winter, will my truck warm up inside any faster?

It should help it heat up faster, but you can't have the defrost on with it. It may cause your windshield to fog when cold out, at least it used to in my 02 Focus.

It will work with the heat on but it will not stay on indefinately like it will with the a/c on.

Will help you feel the heat quicker. In wet weather above 40 degrees you may experience fogging with RECIRC. Also cools quicker in summer, but toggle off after initial cool-down.

Technicaly, recirc is designed to help your a/c keep the vehicle cooler in the summer and only when its very warm out, or when there are odours that you want to keep out of the cab such as diesel or following a cattle truck. Using it in the winter does not help it warm up any quicker inside the cab, it will usually just fog the windows up and make you have to sit longer, wasting more gas to clear all of your windows.

'Using it in the winter does not help it warm up any quicker inside the cab'

Sure it does. It does this by re-heating the same air in the cab over and over rather than heating fresh cold outside air. Obviously the recirculated air will be heated quicker than the cold outside air, as it's warmer and warmer each time through the heater core. You do run the risk of fogging any time you use recirc without the compressor.

There are two sources of air available to the air distribution system:

outside air
recirculated air
Recirculated air is only used when the electronic manual temperature control mode selector is set in the MAX A/C or OFF modes. Recirculated air is available in all modes except DEFROST. If the vehicle is equipped with EATC, recirculated air is used in OFF and is available in all modes except DEFROST.

This is from the manual. Sorry, wasn't shure which system you have. But, it will fog the windows in cold weather. May warm up faster, but fogged up windows is a pain also, I would say it is totally up to the individual as to what they want to do.
