A couple questions

Mine is a 2005 FX4. The gas safety shutoff has kicked off twice in the past month. Both times while the truck was stationary and the engine off. I thought this could only happen in the event of an accident, or while the trucks engine was on. Can hot, humid weather play a factor here? Also, how common is it for when you release the parking brake for water to come out from the release handle. I sincerely hope I'm not experiencing another windshield cowling leak.

Thank you!

Both issues sound like time to go to the dealer. You have warranty left?

For some reason, that's a fairly common problem on an '03-'05.

Does this happen after some body gets out of the passenger side of the truck. I had to move my switch to the inside of the kick panel to keep my son from tripping it out or disconnecting the wires from it when it was positioned at the top of the passenger side carpet just below the heater box.

Another vote for this being a common problem. It happened to my 05, costing me a big tow bill as well as mechanic bill just to tell me it started for the dealer mechanic the next morning. They claim they did not have to reset it. Wish I had onboard access to FTE because this site is awesome, members here were great and told me what to check and the next two times this happened with what I learned from FTE I was able to identify the contacts on the inertia switch were interrupting fuel supply.

Actually, on the first time, I hauled my mom home from the hospital two days earlier. Myself and a nurse had a heck of a time getting her up in the truck. (She's 87 years old) Maybe she did mess up the wires with her feet. I hadn't thought about that. Thanks! BossHawg
