Ok, so i finally got my truck (F100 short bed styleside) to the point of driving off the block and planned on taking it to the office today. My trip turned into a pretty short trip. I guess my dumb a-- didn't reef down the rear lugs the other night after measuring for my wheel spacing. Low and behold, i now have a fairly decent bend behind the driver side rear tire where my tire/wheel caught the angled support brace.
...now that im down spouting, can anyone help me with game plan as to straightening that corner? Do i just start reefing on it to bend it back then hammer in smooth? Should i use heat? should i order a replacement pannel and cut/weld a new one in?
......did i mention that it was just painted, and put all back together last night....nnedless to say, it was a downer day for me. Thanks for and thoughts in advance.
OUCH!! If your not a body man I would look for a reputable one in your area and have it done right. Don't put heat to it or start banging it with a hammer get a couple of quotes and have it done right. Good luck
You'll do more damage not knowing how to properly fix it by stretching the metal, making it hard for the body guy when you admit defeat and take it to him eventually.
