I just got this truck and am slowly trying to bring it back to life. It IS seized... I have replaced all the fluids and will soon pour some kerosene down the plug holes.
I attempted to use a breaker-bar with a 1" socket on the pully nut (had to remove the fan to get to it). I tried reefing on the bar but I could only loosin' the SOB. I was able to tighten it to a point were I was still getting movement out of the nut, but was affraid it was about to snap-off, and I couldn't get anything to rotate/turn.
Do I have the breaker-bar in the right place, or should I remove the pully wheel and use the dampner behind it? Is there anything else I should attempt before tearing it down and beating it with hammer?
Pull the plugs, which I assume you already have to "lube" the cylinders, and liberally put in a good rust destroyer, I have had good luck with LPS2 but there are many others.
Pull the starter in case it is stuck.
If it is a manual tranny the clutch could be stuck and thus you are trying to turn the engine and tranny
Dont forget to let the rust destroyer work for a while it isnt an instant miracle
Oh was the engine working then siezed up while stting?? Or are you going on the faith of the seller?? Maybe the engine seized while it was running
