I have a 2006 F150 FX4. The alarm is freakin crazy sensitive. A car driving by in the neighborhood sets it off. This just started about two weeks ago. Does anyone know how to adjust it? I'm trying to avoid the dealership?
Did you look to see if there was an adjustment ****..? As far as I know, Ford doesnt make the alarms they put on, as VFR stated they "authorize" and install them.
There is no **** for the systems for which I have read the instructions.
The adjustment procedure is a contorted process of button diddling that is described in the owner's manuals on the site I posted. There is a couple or more generations of security systems listed there, so you may have to poke around a bit to find yours.
sometimes certain alarms can have the sensitivity adjusted by entering the programming mode, and then you hit the dash to set it. the harder the hit, the less sensitive, and vice versa. maybe that it an option with yours?
