E40d problems...
My tranny is actin up really bad, first it was just holding a gear for a little bit and then pushing into the next gear and now the speedometer is really actin up, like jumping around really bad. If anyone knows anything I could really use the help

Vehicle speed sensor, I believe it is mounted to the side of the E4OD (depending on your year truck... what year it is?) although I'm not sure where, I've never had to do anything with it. My buddy just replaced his the other day because of a bouncing needle and strange tranny shifting (hmm, sounds familiar ehh?) It didn't fix his problem actually... Someone made a comment about how the VSS only sends its signals for the ENGINE to use, not the speedometer. But who knows, maybe the VSS is bad. Here's Jurgen's thread about his transmission:

'92-up trucks have the VSS in the pumpkin (differential), and don't have a mechanical speedo cable--it's all electronic. Pre-'92, the speedo was mechanical, controlled by a cable into the rear of the tranny, with a separate VSS to control the RABS.
