97 stroke 330 thousand on her the light on the shifter starts flashing then my tranny starts actin up anyone else ever seen this problem

 

yup, if its flashing then it stored codes, need to get them pulled to give you any kind of help.

 

I had this problem, after getting trans. rebuilt ($2000.oo) , replacing speed sensors twice, Found out is was the instrument cluster sending false speed readins. Hope this helps.

How did you determine it was false readings from the instrument cluster?

Took it to the local dealership,after about 2 weeks he said he couldn't get the truck to act up,so finnally he suggested hooking up his monitor to the truck & he and I went for a drive, me driving,he watching the monitor,after only about 5 miles it did it,OD light started flashing which means it is in limp mode. The monitor was reading 119 mph,we were going about 60. He said he thought it was the instrument cluster,so I had him to replace it,no more problems.
