Electrical head ache...

Im trying to make this truck I bought a street legal truck. Here's my problem. When I bought the truck somebody had ripped apart the steering column so that I had to start it without the key. But I replaced it and it starts up, the linkage is fixed. But the gear indicator doesn't work ( the P R N D 2 1 orange thing), the shifter doesn't lock, neither do the back up lights work.

i would locate a new steering colum/wheel from the wrecking yard and start fresh

I did... It's better then the old one believe it or not.

Two possible problems... I had to cut a white wire to get the old column out...

EDIT oh yeeah and there is that red wire hanging around by the fuse box.
